More About Us
Barrier Island Aviation is based just 5 miles southwest of the Wright Brother's monument where the Wright Brothers achieved their first controlled flight in the Wright Flyer. Students have an opportunity to make their first landing at the First Flight Airstrip in Kill Devil Hills which is the airstrip associated with the Wright Brother's Monument.
Students are able to fly over the coast and see dolphins, sea-turtles etc.
For a student seeking a quick rating, the Outer Banks is a very ideal seasonal destination. There are plenty of jobs available during the summer time and our doors at Barrier Island Aviation are open 7 days a week.
