Flight/Flight Instruction Experience
I am a full-time professional aviation faculty member at a private university in Greenville, South Carolina, teaching aircraft maintenance and flight. Teaching is what I do for a living. I have flown over 5000 hours total time, over 1100 of those hours as a flight instructor. Of the 1100 hours of flight instruction given, about 400 hours were given to private pilot instruction (primary), about 450 hours to instrument/commercial (advanced)instruction, and about 250 hours as multi-engine instruction.
I have instructed and flown in the high density traffic area's of Los Angeles, Chicago's O'hare, Atlanta, Charlotte and Greer. As well, I have taught and flown in the bush of Alaska and Mexico, mountains and plains, flown and instructed in multiple years of all season weather, in multiple types of aircaft and simulators.
I consider myself to be building pilots, not flight time. I make it my goal to be methodical and thorough in the instruction given to produce pilots with professional skill levels appropriate to the certificate and rating sought.
Accelerated courses (several lessons a day for a few weeks to completion) over Christmas break and summer break may be available. Otherwise, flight instruction is offed evenings and weekends during the school year.
