Actually that's my aim whenever words are coming out of my mouth, really... :) I work part time, I'm almost done with my 4 year degree, and I love teaching others to fly for a living. Hopefully flying for a paycheck allows me to stay in Portland, OR, although I'm not banking on it. Money, work, investments/property interest me because doing things right early instead of messing around will help me retire at a young age. Then I'll do whatever I want and that sure would be nice. Nobody's born destined to be successful - it's something you have to constantly work at to achieve. I'm doing my best.

Flight/Flight Instruction Experience
People learn better when they're having fun. People learn NOTHING when they're intimidated, scared, or confused.
Too many instructors get technical and uber-specific when teaching, and this presents the aforesaid confusion (and even some intimidation) within the student at the apparent amount of knowledge that must be amassed in one's head to fly airplanes.
When it comes right down to it, flying isn't hard - it's just different. You weren't a great driver after 40 hours, were you? But you were legal. Same goes for flying, and anyone trying to blow things out of proportion is going overboard, and will make your learning experience HARDER.
I try to present all material in an understandable, fun manner. After that, getting the student to fly within the bounds of safety - and with precision - is simple. Plus, they have more fun!
Educational Background
I've been flying for 7 years.
As a supplement to my flight training, I've gone to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, studying Aviation Safety and Professional Aeronautics in pursuit of my Bachelors of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics. I plan to begin my masters in Aviation Science after competing my 4 year.
Overall, the aviation safety classes were my favorite, and I learned quite a bit about human factors, materials, investigation, regulations, and many other facets of aviation. Good stuff.
My education is the best investment I've ever made.
