Silver Wings Flying Company, LLC                Last Visit: 09.09.2008

Silver Wings Flying Company offers stunning scenic flights of the south sound in a 1945 Piper J-3 Cub. We are also pleased to provide primary flight instruction in tailwheel aircraft as well as a tailwheel endorsement for those pilots already rated. Silver Wings Flying Company also operates a beautifully restored 1969 Citabria 7ECA which is also ideal for tailwheel training, and is our primary aircraft for our stall/spin, and unusual attitude syllabus. Our instructors are very experienced military instructors, or airline pilots. We exist to provide the very best flying experience possible. Give us a call and rediscover the romance of flying!

School Description
We are a school that specializes in tailwheel flight instruction. Learning to fly a conventional aircraft is no more difficult than a tricycle gear airplane...just different. We use well maintained antique aircraft, and a staff with thousands of hours in high performance classic and antique taildraggers. You will learn in a low stress, enjoyable environment designed to not only make you a competent tailwheel pilot, but to also to appreciate the simplicity and unique skills being a skilled tailwheel pilot provides. With prior arrangement we can accomodate a weekend tailwheel syllabus. If tailwheel training isn't for you, we also instruct private, commercial and instruments in association with two local FBOs which provide airplane rentals.

Staff Qualification
Our Chief Pilot is a current U.S Army special operations helicopter pilot, part time Fish & Wildlife pilot, and FAA Safety Counselor. He grew up with a Stearman and has been flying taildraggers for 10 years. He's also a seaplane and warbird airshow formation instructor. Our other instructor has over 3,500 hrs of tailwheel experience, with much of that time flying classic bi-planes and WWII fighters. He can also be seen at airshows nation wide flying formation with a U.S. Navy F-18 Hornet in his F4F Wildcat as a Tailhook Legacy Flight demonstration pilot. He is largely considered to be one of the most talented Stearman instructors in the country. You won't find a more qualified instructor staff anywhere.
